Ultimate Guide to P&O Britannia

This restaurant offers contemporary Indian cuisine and is open for dinner every night from 6pm to 9pm and a light lunch on sea days from 11am to 4.30pm. British TV presenter and wine expert, Olly Smith, has had a hand in the menu so it’s fair to say that some thought has gone into the food and drink on offer. I dined at The Beach House twice on my last cruise on Britannia and liked it’s casual atmosphere and tasty food. There are four grades of suite on Britannia and are located forward, mid-ship and in the aft. As it’s the most expensive type of cabin on Britannia, I’d fully recommend doing plenty of research before booking so that you choose the right one for you.
Celebrities at Sea: Special Onboard Events
I had the most amazing cruise onboard Britannia as we cruised around the Norwegian Fjords. It was my first P&O cruise and I was really impressed with the quality of the food and service onboard. I will be writing more about this at a later date but I was seriously impressed with the formal nights onboard Britannia. P&O really provides a good opportunity to try formal nights without strictly enforced ship-wide dress codes. Most other guests did dress up and I loved seeing some of the other passenger’s outfits! There are plenty of other dining venues if you don’t want to do the formal dining thing.
What is the MV Britannia ship class?
I would definitely recommend you head to the top decks at some point and pick up a sandwich to enjoy. It’s a great alternative to the buffet if you don’t want to fight the crowds at busy times. The ship belongs to the P&O UK class of ships known as the null class. From end to end, the MV Britannia length equals 1083 feet (331 meters). Compare that to the average ship length of all 5 active vessels in P&O UK’s fleet, measuring 965 feet (295 meters). Yes, an unlimited amount of water and soft drinks can be brought on board with you for your P&O cruise.

– Try a cooking lesson in the cookery club
P and O is the world's oldest cruise company, starting passenger shipping operations in 1822 on the routes connecting England with Iberia. The Cookery Club on board Britannia is a hands-on cooking school at sea. Create your very own culinary masterpieces under the guidance of the best in the business, including the Godfather of British cooking, Marco Pierre White and other Food Heroes (on selected cruises). The beach house is the cheapest (£7.50ish) but it was my favourite!
The Britannia also offers many options for those seeking peace, such as the popular Oasis Spa, the fleet's most lavish and luxurious spa to date. A selection of 13 different restaurants offers culinary options for every guest. Britannia is the largest liner in P&O Cruises UK's fleet and also the ever-biggest passenger ship constructed for the UK source market. The vessel provides the best classic features of Aurora and Oriana, and a wide choice of the contemporary variety of Azura and Ventura.

Originally intended to serve the Chinese market, she debuted as Costa Venezia for sister brand Costa Cruises in Shanghai on 18 May 2019. MV Britannia cruise ship cabins with balconies are 1362 (excluding the larger-balconied Suites), located on all cabin decks (max capacity 4 guests per cabin). Just like NCL Epic and the Royal-class sisterships in the Princess Cruises fleet, P&O UK's largest ship is unique with lacking Oceanview cabins (has no outside staterooms with Picture or Porthole windows). The Royal-class cruise ship is a class of cruise ships constructed by Fincantieri of Italy and operated by Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, both subsidiaries of Carnival Corporation & plc.

Britannia departed the Fincantieri ship yard on 27 February 2015 for Southampton via Gibraltar. Britannia was officially named on 10 March 2015 by Queen Elizabeth II at the Ocean Terminal. From end to end, the Spectrum of the Seas length equals 1,083 feet (331 meters).
Note that even though this ship is family friendly and has a more relaxed vibe -- formal still means full black tie in the public rooms. Britannia might break many of P&O Cruises' traditions, but dress code still rules -- and that also applies to older children. P&O Britannia itinerary program is based on homeporting in Southampton England and Bridgetown Barbados.
